I thought it would be nice for people who were posting here (yes I am looking at you Cass & Sean) to write little mini-intros if they want to, especially now that we are reading a bunch of new journals written by people who are not other multiples. I am putting them in ABC order so nobody can complain.

Cassandra: I think it is not a bad idea, Bryn, but of course we now all feel greatly self-conscious. So, I am Cassandra, and what shall I say about myself? I like to read, write prose and poetry, knit, spend time with my children, prune my roses, sing in the car, cook risotto, and many other such things. The best books I have read in the last year are Andrew Davidson's The Gargoyle, Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls, Francis Spufford's Red Plenty and Candas Jane Dorsey's Black Wine. That last was truly phenomenal, it is I think the only book I have ever read which I almost wished I had written myself... not quite, as then I could not have had the pleasure of reading it.

The longer I live in this new time and the more I come to know myself, the more I realise that, for me, it is not the content which makes the joy, but the manner I approach it. I do like to do those things above, but what gives me the joy in them is the using my mind, my sight, my self; I can read feverishly to lose myself in a book and forget my life and then it is just like any other drug, or I can read lucidly, aware, considering, and feeling how the words interweave with my world inside and out, and then there is joy in it.

David: I'm dubious about my ability to self-summarise, and what does a list of things tell anyone, anyway? I'm male, Jewish, in my thirties, bisexual, involved with several truly amazing women. I have an astral daughter, Marai, and of course the two body children. I paint, and I like math although I've never studied it the way I would need to in order to be good at it. In the body I'm often clumsy and am famous in our household for my ability to destroy our cookware, although in my defense all of the pans were recoverable. Cass and I are siblings, more or less; we've been around the longest, at any rate.

Sean: I can totally complain, Bryn, it's not like I picked my own name, and you & Cass did. And anyway, uh, what can I say? I'm an athletic extrovert, I like to sit down with a plate full of meat and some good beer (cream stout for the win) and watch TV. Talking to new people fires me up. I like driving but I get pissed off easily at bad drivers. I like running around outside with the kids; I can't wait until our son is old enough to run. I have a soft spot for medieval re-creation sort of stuff, and if we had more time I'd get involved in a renaissance fair or something like that; I was looking into a swordfighting group that seemed pretty awesome. I am gender-fluid, if that's even a term; I was a boy until I hit adulthood, and now I'm mostly a woman, but sometimes a man. Really I just don't worry about it much, I feel whichever way I feel. I'm dating a cute, smart, funny girl named Avalon ([personal profile] avalon_storm) online, and in the body I have a boyfriend who I don't see as often as I'd like.

Psst Shawn!

Gender-fluid is definitely a term. <3 Just so you know. And even if it wasn't, you use it so therefore it's a term. Heh.

I enjoy reading too, Cassandra! Granted, I read a lot of science-fiction and YA novels, heh.

Also, Sean, I'm part of a group that's sort of like a renaissance faire, but instead of a performative event they hold participatory events. It's called the SCA, or Society for Creative Anachronism, if you wanted to check it out. A lot of areas have weekly meetings you can go to as often or as little as time allows.

Cass: My favorite books change pretty often, ha. Although right now my favorite book is American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I kind of forgot how much I loved it, and now I'm reading Anansi boys, and I'm remembering how much I love his writing.

Sean: I understand. I haven't been going to my weekly meetings and I have more time than you all do, most likely. And yeah! I'm surprised at how big it's getting. I hope you're able to participate someday!
